Structure Windows

Structure windows let you view a simulation in the form of a tree showing the hierarchical structure of the system.

You can open a new structure window by using the Window / New Structure command, or by using the Window / Duplicate command on an existing structure window.

You can select as few or as many objects as you like in a structure window using combinations of the following commands.

The Edit / Select All command or Control+A (Command+A on a Mac) selects all the objects.
The Edit / Deselect All command or Control+Shift+A (Command+Shift+S on a Mac) deselects all the objects.
Click on a row selects the object and deselects all other objects.
Shift+Click is used to select or deselect an entire group of objects.
Control+Click (Command+Click on a Mac) on a row swaps the selection state of the object (off-to-on or on-to-off), leaving all other objects unchanged.

You can also select a particular object using the Edit / Find command.

Trees have the following three types of tree nodes.

indicates an object that has a family that is currently hidden, and if you click on the corresponding 'expand' tool, the object's family will become visible.
indicates an object that has a family that is currently visible, and if you click on the corresponding 'collapse' tool, the object's family will become hidden.
indicates an object that has no family, and that has no corresponding 'expand' or 'collapse' tool.
